Now, let’s get down to business. Will Google Glass have an Impact on SEO?

How does Google Glass Search Work? http://searchengineland.com/how-search-works-on-google-glass-160112

What does Google Glass have to do with SEO?

  1. There is no web browser in Google Glass
  2. Searching on Google Glass is made for finding information, not necessarily finding webpages.

Google Glass pulls data from it’s own “GOOGLE” resources such as Knowledge Graph, and Google Now and displays that information to you.

Let’s understand the type of search queries you can do in Google Glass and then we’ll talk about how you as a small business owner can monetize:

  1. Informational queries – A web search query is a query that a user enters into a web search engine to satisfy his or her information needs.
  2. Transactional queries – A web search query is a query that a user enters into a web search engine to satisfy his or her information needs.

Google Defines Informational and Transactional queries the same. What does this mean for Search? Nothing. A user is looking for information, and Google does it’s best to give that information to that user.

How do we optimize for Google Glass Search? You don’t as of yet. In all honesty, you shouldn’t be worrying about how or why or if Google Glass will positively or negatively effect Search until you start seeing a large sway in the public walking around with Google Glass on their faces. However, to answer the question: you optimize for Google Glass by getting your data into their databases (Google’s), and become so relevant that they will list your data over others or even over their own pre-approved “already decided” informational queries as they control the information flow on the internet.
